Self Diagnosis

Details about your pain and history can help you (and us) better understand your current situation and provide more effective feedback.

Locate the site and cause of your pain.

Treatment with the Move+

Primary treatment area

For Knee Osteoarthritis we are attempting to treat the synovial cavity.

This is most accessible when your knee is bent at a 90 degree angle.

1. Place 2 vertical modules on the knee line when bent at 90 degrees:

2. Place one horizontal module on the back of the knee when bent at 90 degrees.

Treatment Time

Treat the local areas indicated for 10-15 minutes daily

Each cycle of the Move+ is 5 minutes. Allow the timer to sound when each cycle is finished before pressing the power button to run another cycle.

When you press one power button all 3 devices should power on. If they are not synced please place them in the charging dock and remove at the same time and they will re-sync.

Treatment Expectations

Inflammation Impacts

Inflammation reduction, particularly in joints, is extremely well documented, and is a foundational impact we can assume from the therapy.

In treating the primary tissue, the main functional outcome on pain and inflammation is driven by inflammation reduction.

If you are not seeing a reduction in inflammation or swelling after 1-2 days of treatment, please contact us for a review of your usage protocols

Pain Impacts

There are two primary impacts on pain:

  • Inflammation
    • inflammation is often a cause of pain; when the inflammation is reduced the relevant pain reduces as well
  • Pain Transmission
    • Increased activity of acetylcholinesterase in the synapses; acetylcholinesterase degrades the nociceptive neurotransmitter acetylcholine which reduces pain sensitivity

If your pain is not inflammation-based:

  • You will experience less pain reduction
  • The reduction is inflammation can still help your tissue health long-term

Secondary Treatment areas

Regional Area Microvasculature Treatment

The inflammation associated with joint arthritis can cause restricted blood flow in the regional microcirculation.

Light therapy can increase regional blood flow to this damaged tissue.

1. Place 2 vertical modules on the front of the quad as shown below

2. Place one horizontal module on the back of the hamstring as shown below

Central Nervous System CNS Pain Treatment

Light therapy can also impact pain signal transmission from a central nervous system (CNS) aspect.

This pain treatment will not work to improve the local tissue health or recovery directly, but WILL reduce the pain transmission and mute the pain sensitivity.

To execute this treatment, find the ganglia or nerve clusters upstream from your point of pain.

For knee pain the below diagram indicates the points for treatment. As everyone’s physiology varies, you may need to test several orientations and positions for the device.

If the pain point is on the left leg, then the device will be positioned slightly to the left of the lower spine. Vice versa for the right.

Secondary Treatment Time

Treat the local areas indicated for 10 minutes daily.

Each cycle of the Move+ is 5 minutes. Allow the timer to sound when each cycle is finished before pressing the power button to run another cycle.

Secondary Treatment Expectations

Blood Flow Impacts

Reducing the impacts of the inflammation on the regional blood flow will take 6-8 weeks to show substantial impacts, but is very effective.

Pain Transmission

When treating the central nervous system(CNS)/nerve tissue, there is

increased activity of acetylcholinesterase in the synapses; acetylcholinesterase degrades the nociceptive neurotransmitter acetylcholine which reduces pain sensitivity

This will provide a muting of the pain sensitivity, but will NOT positively impact the healing of the local tissue, so it is not meant to replace the local treatments.

Training with Treatment

  1. Glute Bridge - This helps strengthen the rear chain and support more stable knee movement
    • Start with double leg - Watch video HERE
    • Progress to single leg when you feel comfortable with it - Watch HERE
  2. Poliquin Step Up - Watch video HERE
    • Start with no extra weight and a simple 3" heel elevation
  3. Tibia Raises - Watch Video HERE
  4. Knee Over Toe Lunge - Watch video HERE
    • Start Stepping onto a raised platform as high as you need to, to avoid discomfort
