About Wrist Pain

Wrist pain can arise from various causes, impacting daily activities and quality of life. Common symptoms include a range of pain levels, from a dull ache to sharp, intense discomfort, often localized to specific areas of the wrist.

Swelling may occur, accompanied by tenderness and warmth, making the wrist feel puffy or inflamed. Stiffness and reduced mobility are frequent, causing difficulty in bending, extending, or rotating the wrist. Individuals might also experience numbness or tingling, particularly if the median nerve is compressed, as seen in carpal tunnel syndrome.

Treatment options for wrist pain can vary depending on the cause and symptoms, and often are related to several contributing factors. We recommend speaking to a qualified health professional to help diagnose and treat any specific conditions.

Red light therapy can be a very effective treatment for many wrist issues by helping reduce inflammation, modulate pain signal transmission, and stimulate tissue repair and regeneration. Combining mobility and strengthening exercises with red light therapy can be extremely beneficial for optimal healing and pain reduction.

Primary Treatment

For general wrist pain and inflammation, we are likely trying to treat the tendons that connect your forearm muscles to your hand bones.

  1. For optimal comfort, remove one of the modules and module holders from the strap for a 2 module configuration
  2. Shorten the straps to the shortest length and secure with the velcro
  3. Position one module on the top of the wrist, and one module underneath

Treatment Time

  • Each area should be treated for 10–15 minutes per session, up to 2 times daily. For best results, combine red light therapy with gentle mobility and strengthening exercises tailored to your issue. Always listen to your body, and if in doubt, consult a healthcare professional for guidance.
  • Consistency is key. Doing a short treatment every day will be more effective than doing longer sessions more sporadically.

Secondary Treatment

Wrist pain can sometimes be a symptom of inflammation in the elbow, particularly of the tendons that connect to muscles controlling wrist movement. This can cause pain that radiates down to the wrist through interconnected nerve and muscle pathways. Addressing this inflammation in the elbow could help relieve wrist pain.

With the elbow in a relaxed position, place the modules around the inside and outside of the elbow to target inflammation associated with tennis/golfers elbow.

Treatment Expectations

On average, our customers see an 89% decrease in pain within 2-3 weeks. Some people have noticeable relief of pain, even after just one session!

One big impact on results is how much blood and tissue is around the area of pain and inflammation.

You can expect faster results on larger areas, like hips, knees and back. Smaller areas like hands and ankles, may require 3-4 weeks for noticeable pain reduction.

Treatment Benefits

Inflammation

Inflammation is a common cause of pain. Light therapy is a proven treatment to help significantly reduce inflammation.

Pain Transmission

Reduces pain signal transmission in the nervous system through neurotransmitter modulation.

Tissue Health

Stimulates tissue repair and regeneration through an increase in cellular function and reduction in oxidative stress

Blood Flow

Improvements in blood flow will contribute to reduced inflammation, healthy tissues and faster healing.
